These Terms incorporate the Ruiya Privacy Policy, which explains how Ruiya handles personal data, including children’s personal data.
Parent Summary
Ruiya is an artificial intelligence educational support tool. It is meant to support learning, not replace parents, teachers, schools, or professional educational assessment. A parent or legal guardian must create and manage the account. Ruiya may make mistakes, so important answers should be checked. To keep children safe and improve the service, the operator may occasionally review tutoring conversations. Paid, trial, promotional, school, or access-code terms will be shown at the time of purchase, redemption, checkout, or relevant written communication.

Ruiya is currently a founder-operated pilot platform. It is not currently operated by an incorporated company.
References to “Ruiya”, “we”, “our”, or “us” refer to Agus Sentosa operating the Ruiya platform under the product name “Ruiya”.
If Ruiya is later incorporated, transferred, or operated by a registered business or company, we may update these Terms and the Privacy Policy to identify the new operator. Where reasonably necessary to continue the Platform, rights, obligations, account records, paid-access records, and personal data may be transferred to the successor Ruiya operator, subject to the Privacy Policy and applicable law.
Ruiya is designed for Singapore primary school students to use under parent or legal guardian supervision.
Only a parent or legal guardian aged 18 or above may create an account, request access, or purchase access for a child.
By creating an account, requesting access, purchasing access, or allowing a child to use Ruiya, you confirm that:
1. you are at least 18 years old;
2. you are the child’s parent or legal guardian, or otherwise have lawful authority to consent to the child’s use of Ruiya;
3. you agree to these Terms and the Privacy Policy for yourself and on behalf of the child;
4. all information you provide is true, accurate, current, and complete; and
5. you will supervise the child’s use of Ruiya appropriately.
Children must not create their own accounts.
We may suspend or terminate an account if we reasonably believe that it was created by a child, created without valid parental/legal guardian authority, or used in a way that creates legal, privacy, safety, security, payment, or operational risk.
To use Ruiya, you may need to provide a parent or guardian email address, password, child first name or nickname, child primary level, and access code or paid-access details.
You are responsible for:
1. keeping account credentials confidential;
2. all activity under your account, including activity by a child using the account;
3. ensuring that the child does not share private personal information unnecessarily;
4. promptly telling us about suspected unauthorised access or account misuse; and
5. ensuring that payment or access information you provide is accurate and authorised.
You must not share login credentials outside your household, sell or transfer your account, use another person’s account without permission, or create accounts using false information.
Ruiya may offer free trials, discretionary free access, access-code based access, prepaid access packages, subscriptions, promotional access, school access, or other plans from time to time.
The exact commercial terms of any plan are not fixed in these Terms. They will be shown at the time of purchase, redemption, access-code issuance, checkout, or in the relevant written communication.
Ruiya may offer limited trial access. The trial allowance, usage limits, access duration, subjects, features, or other restrictions may vary by access code, product configuration, abuse-prevention controls, pilot arrangement, promotion, or user group.
Additional free access may be granted, extended, reduced, refused, or withdrawn at Ruiya’s discretion. Free trial access is not guaranteed, may differ between users, and may be changed at any time.
Trial or free access does not create any right to continued free access, paid access, or a particular usage allowance.
Ruiya may offer paid access in different forms, including prepaid usage packages, time-limited access, subscriptions, promotional packages, school packages, or other plan types.
During the founding beta period, paid access is described as Ruiya Founding Beta (or Founding Beta). Unless different terms are clearly shown before payment, Ruiya Founding Beta access is a prepaid beta access package for the account that purchased it.
Before you purchase or redeem paid access, Ruiya will show or communicate the material commercial terms applicable to that access, which may include:
1. the price and currency;
2. the usage allowance, credit amount, access duration, message limit, or other usage metric;
3. the validity period or expiry date, if any;
4. the features, subjects, or child profiles covered;
5. whether the access is one-time, prepaid, recurring, or automatically renewing;
6. cancellation method, where applicable;
7. refund or credit eligibility;
8. access-code or entitlement delivery method; and
9. any other material usage restrictions.
Paid access is governed by the plan terms shown at the time of purchase, redemption, access-code issuance, checkout, or relevant written communication. You should review those terms before paying or redeeming access.
Unless expressly stated before purchase and authorised by you, paid access does not automatically renew and Ruiya will not charge recurring fees.
Paid access is for the relevant parent/guardian account or household account and may not be resold, transferred, shared outside the household, or used to provide services to others unless Ruiya expressly permits this in writing.
Paid access does not guarantee any academic outcome, grade improvement, examination result, or particular educational result.
A plan may measure usage by message turns, credits, images, time period, child profile, subject, feature access, or another usage metric shown at the time of purchase or redemption.
Where a plan uses message turns, 1 turn = 1 message from your child + 1 reply from Ruiya.
A usage unit may be counted even if the answer is short, the answer includes a request for clarification, the uploaded image is unclear, the child asks a non-academic question, or the response is not the answer the user hoped for.
If Ruiya has a material technical failure that prevents a meaningful response after usage is counted, you may contact us. We may restore access, credit usage, or provide another remedy where we reasonably determine that the issue was caused by a Platform fault.
If a paid plan has a validity period or expiry date, unused access may expire at the end of that period. If no validity period or expiry date is shown at purchase, redemption, or access-code issuance, Ruiya should not treat the paid access as expired solely because of time passing, unless required for security, abuse prevention, legal compliance, platform discontinuation, or other reasonable operational reasons.
During the pilot, payments may be processed manually or through a third-party payment provider. Payment details, payment instructions, access delivery method, and any applicable payment-provider terms will be shown or communicated before payment.
For manual pilot payments during the founding beta period, payment is by bank transfer only unless Ruiya clearly communicates another method before payment. You may be asked to include a Ruiya payment reference, registered Ruiya username, or registered Ruiya email address in the bank-transfer reference field so that we can match the payment to the correct account and child profile. You may also be asked to send a screenshot, receipt, transaction reference, or other proof of payment to the email address specified in the payment instructions, including support@ruiya.ai or another Ruiya support address during the founding beta period.
Ruiya Founding Beta access codes are issued manually after we reasonably confirm payment and match it to the relevant account. You are responsible for entering the correct account email, username, payment reference, and proof of payment. Incorrect or incomplete payment references may delay access-code issuance.
Ruiya does not store full credit card numbers. Where card payments are accepted, they are handled by the relevant payment processor.
Ruiya does not charge Goods and Services Tax (GST) unless expressly stated.
You represent that you are authorised to use the payment method and that the payment information you provide is accurate.
Ruiya will not automatically renew a paid plan or charge recurring fees unless this is expressly stated before purchase and you authorise the recurring payment.
If Ruiya later introduces subscriptions or automatic renewal, the renewal terms, cancellation method, billing cycle, and price will be shown before you subscribe.
Trial access may be ended, extended, or changed at Ruiya’s discretion.
Paid access is generally non-refundable once the access code, paid entitlement, subscription period, or other access right has been issued or once usage has started, except where required by law or where Ruiya materially fails to provide the paid access due to a fault attributable to Ruiya.
For Ruiya Founding Beta and other manually issued access-code packages, payment is treated as committed once the access code has been issued to the registered email address or once the account has redeemed or used the access, whichever happens first. Because access codes can be redeemed, shared, consumed, or extended manually, refund requests after code issuance or usage will normally be declined unless required by law or unless Ruiya materially fails to provide the paid access due to a fault attributable to Ruiya.
Refunds, access extensions, or usage credits may be considered at Ruiya’s discretion for significant technical failures, duplicate payments, incorrect access allocation, or other circumstances we consider fair.
No refund is provided solely because:
1. the child does not use Ruiya;
2. the parent or child is dissatisfied with an answer or educational outcome;
3. the child refuses to use the Platform;
4. the child has finished exams, holidays have started, or study habits change;
5. the user has consumed all or most of the purchased access;
6. the validity period or expiry date disclosed at purchase has passed; or
7. access was suspended or terminated due to breach, misuse, safety risk, payment issue, or abuse.
Nothing in these Terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
You must use Ruiya only for lawful, personal, household, or authorised educational purposes.
You must not, and must not allow a child or anyone else using your account to:
1. use Ruiya for unlawful, harmful, abusive, harassing, exploitative, discriminatory, deceptive, or unsafe purposes;
2. submit content that infringes another person’s rights, including privacy, confidentiality, copyright, or other intellectual property rights;
3. submit identity documents, home addresses, phone numbers, medical records, school records unrelated to the question, faces of children, or other unnecessary personal data unless you have the right to do so and it is necessary for the tutoring interaction;
4. attempt to access another user’s account, conversations, data, or Ruiya’s non-public systems;
5. interfere with, disrupt, reverse engineer, scrape, crawl, overload, or bypass Ruiya or its technical restrictions;
6. use Ruiya to build, train, benchmark, or improve a competing product or service without our written permission;
7. upload malware, harmful code, or content designed to manipulate or compromise Ruiya;
8. misrepresent identity, age, parental authority, payment authority, or affiliation; or
9. use Ruiya in a way that creates legal, safety, privacy, security, payment, or operational risk for Ruiya, users, children, service providers, or third parties.
We may remove, restrict, refuse to process, or report content that we reasonably believe breaches these Terms, creates safety or privacy risk, or may expose Ruiya or others to liability.
We design Ruiya with child safety in mind, including age-appropriate prompts, educational boundaries, and safety handling for concerning content. These measures reduce risk but do not eliminate it.
Parents and legal guardians remain responsible for supervising the child’s use of Ruiya. We recommend that parents:
1. explain that the child should not share private personal information unnecessarily;
2. review the child’s conversations and uploaded images from time to time;
3. remind the child that artificial intelligence can be wrong;
4. ask a teacher or qualified professional for important academic, emotional, behavioural, or learning-difficulty concerns; and
5. contact us if they see content that appears unsafe, inappropriate, inaccurate, or concerning.
Ruiya's operator may access and review tutoring conversations for the following purposes: safety monitoring, quality improvement, responding to support requests, investigating reported issues, and preventing misuse of the Platform. Reviews are not routine — they are prompted by specific circumstances such as safety flags, quality checks, or support requests. Reviewed conversations are treated as personal data and handled in accordance with the Privacy Policy.
If Ruiya detects or receives a report of content suggesting a safety risk, we may review the relevant interaction and take reasonable action. This may include limiting access, contacting the account holder, preserving relevant records, or making a report where legally required or appropriate.
“User Content” means content submitted through Ruiya, including messages, worksheet images, feedback, support requests, and other information provided by you or a child using your account.
You retain ownership of your User Content. By submitting User Content, you grant Ruiya a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to host, store, copy, process, transmit, display, analyse, and use that User Content to:
1. provide and operate Ruiya;
2. generate tutoring responses;
3. maintain conversation history for the account;
4. provide support and respond to requests;
5. detect, prevent, and investigate abuse, security issues, payment issues, or safety issues;
6. improve Platform quality, reliability, and educational usefulness in accordance with the Privacy Policy; and
7. comply with legal obligations.
This licence ends when the relevant User Content is deleted from active systems, except where retention is permitted or required for legal, safety, security, audit, backup, dispute, payment, accounting, or legitimate operational reasons.
You represent that you have the rights and authority needed to submit the User Content and allow Ruiya to process it as described in these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
Ruiya uses third-party artificial intelligence and infrastructure providers to process prompts, worksheet images, and other inputs so that Ruiya can generate tutoring responses.
You understand that:
1. tutoring responses are generated by artificial intelligence systems and are not produced by human teachers;
2. artificial intelligence outputs may contain mistakes, omissions, misleading explanations, or unsuitable content despite safeguards;
3. text and images submitted through Ruiya may be transmitted to third-party service providers for processing;
4. Ruiya does not guarantee that every answer will be correct, complete, current, age-appropriate, or suitable for a particular child; and
5. the Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled and disclosed to service providers.
Ruiya may also use third-party providers for hosting, databases, authentication, analytics, email, payment processing, support, security, and other operational purposes.
We are not responsible for third-party websites, services, or resources that are not controlled by Ruiya, even if linked from Ruiya.
Ruiya is an educational support tool. It is not a school, tuition centre, human teacher, formal assessment service, psychological service, counselling service, medical service, or substitute for professional educational advice.
We do not guarantee any specific grade, examination result, academic improvement, learning outcome, school admission, behavioural outcome, psychological outcome, or motivation improvement.
For important learning difficulties, emotional concerns, behavioural concerns, school placement decisions, or high-stakes academic decisions, consult a qualified teacher, education professional, psychologist, doctor, or other appropriate professional.
Ruiya may refer to the Singapore school context or Ministry of Education syllabus concepts, but Ruiya is not affiliated with, endorsed by, approved by, or sponsored by the Ministry of Education or any government agency unless expressly stated.
Ruiya, including its software, user interface, design, prompts, workflows, educational content, model configuration, documentation, trademarks, branding, and other materials, is owned by Ruiya or its licensors and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
Subject to your compliance with these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable right to access and use Ruiya for personal, household, or authorised educational use.
You must not copy, reproduce, modify, distribute, sell, resell, publicly display, commercially exploit, reverse engineer, or create derivative works from Ruiya except where expressly permitted by law or by Ruiya in writing.
If you provide suggestions, comments, ideas, or feedback about Ruiya, you allow us to use them without restriction or compensation. During the founding beta period, we may invite early families to provide short optional feedback so Ruiya can improve around real homework usage. We will not publish feedback that identifies you or a child without permission, unless legally permitted.
Ruiya is a pilot platform. Features, access limits, models, pricing, plans, design, and availability may change.
We aim to provide a reliable service, but we do not guarantee that Ruiya will always be available, uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We may change, suspend, limit, or discontinue any part of Ruiya for operational, security, legal, product, commercial, model-provider, payment, or safety reasons.
Where a change materially affects paid access, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected account holders or provide a reasonable alternative, credit, or refund where legally required or where we consider it fair.
You may stop using Ruiya at any time. You may request account deletion by contacting support@ruiya.ai.
We may suspend or terminate access if we reasonably believe that:
1. these Terms have been breached;
2. the account was created without valid parent/legal guardian authority or consent;
3. the account creates legal, privacy, safety, security, payment, or operational risk;
4. the account is being used for fraud, abuse, scraping, reverse engineering, unauthorised commercial purposes, or attempts to bypass usage limits;
5. continued access may harm Ruiya, users, children, service providers, or third parties;
6. payment has failed, been reversed, or appears unauthorised; or
7. we are required or permitted to do so by law.
Where practicable and appropriate, we will provide notice. Immediate suspension or termination may be necessary for safety, security, legal, payment, or abuse-prevention reasons.
Upon termination, your right to use Ruiya ends. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply, including intellectual property, user content licence for retained records, disclaimers, liability limits, indemnity, governing law, and dispute provisions.
Our handling of personal data is governed by the Privacy Policy.
By creating an account, requesting access, purchasing access, or using Ruiya, you acknowledge that you have read the Privacy Policy and understand how Ruiya handles personal data, including children’s personal data.
If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymise personal data in accordance with the Privacy Policy, except where retention is permitted or required for legal, security, safety, dispute, accounting, audit, backup, fraud-prevention, payment, or legitimate operational purposes.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ruiya is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis.
We do not promise that:
1. Ruiya will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free from harmful components;
2. all artificial intelligence outputs will be accurate, complete, current, age-appropriate, or suitable for a particular child;
3. use of Ruiya will result in any specific academic, examination, behavioural, psychological, motivational, or educational outcome;
4. Ruiya will identify every error, unsafe input, privacy-risk input, or concerning interaction;
5. Ruiya will meet every school, teacher, parent, or child preference; or
6. Ruiya will remain available indefinitely after the pilot.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any rights or remedies that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ruiya and its operator will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, or exemplary losses, including loss of profits, loss of goodwill, loss of data, loss of opportunity, emotional distress, or loss arising from reliance on artificial intelligence outputs.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Ruiya’s total aggregate liability for all claims arising out of or relating to Ruiya, these Terms, or paid access will not exceed the greater of:
1. the amount you paid to Ruiya in the 3 months before the event giving rise to the claim; or
2. S$100.
This limitation does not apply to liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
You agree to indemnify Ruiya and its operator against claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, and expenses arising from:
1. your breach of these Terms;
2. your misuse of Ruiya;
3. User Content submitted through your account;
4. use of Ruiya by a child under your account;
5. unauthorised payment, chargeback, or payment dispute caused by your actions or incorrect information;
6. your violation of another person’s rights, including privacy or intellectual property rights; or
7. your violation of applicable law.
This indemnity applies only to the extent permitted by law.
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in Ruiya, pricing, plans, technology, law, payment methods, business structure, or operating practices.
For material changes, we will take reasonable steps to notify account holders, such as by email or in-product notice. Updated Terms will take effect from the date stated in the updated Terms or notice.
Your continued use of Ruiya after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms. If you do not agree, you should stop using Ruiya and may request account deletion.
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Singapore.
Before commencing formal proceedings, you agree to contact us at support@ruiya.ai and allow reasonable time for good-faith resolution.
Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or Ruiya will be subject to the courts of Singapore, unless the parties agree to another lawful dispute-resolution method.
These Terms and the Privacy Policy form the agreement between you and Ruiya regarding your use of the Platform.
If any provision is found invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of our right to enforce it later.
You may not assign or transfer your account or rights under these Terms without our consent.
We may assign or transfer these Terms, account/access records, and related rights and obligations to a successor Ruiya operator, including a registered business or incorporated company, where reasonably necessary to continue Ruiya, subject to applicable law and the Privacy Policy.
